How long is The Training Program?
The first two years comprise the Personal Development Training portion of the program.
The Two Year Program may be taken for personal growth and development or are a prerequisite for applying for admission to Year 3, the Professional Training Program. Years 3, 4 and 5 comprise the Professional Development Training portion of the program.
Note that following completion of the formal training in Year 5 student may take from 1 to 3 years to complete the requirements of their training for graduation. During this time it is required that students meet with a supervisor minimum of once every three months.
What is the schedule of classes for The Training Program?
Regular classes are scheduled from September until May excluding December. Schedules of classes are as follows:
- Year 1: Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 10 pm, 3 times per month
plus one weekend per month beginning Friday: 7:30 to 10 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am to 8:30 pm; and Sunday: 10:00 am to 1 pm.
- Year 2: Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 10 pm, 3 times per month
plus one weekend per month beginning Friday: 7:30 to 10 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am to 8:30 pm; and Sunday: 10:00 am to 1 pm.
- Year 3: Thursday evenings from 5:15 to 7:15 pm, 3 times per month
plus one weekend per month beginning Friday: 7:30 to 10 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am to 5 pm; and Sunday: 10:00 am to 1 pm.
- Year 4: Wednesday evenings from 5:15 to 7:15 pm, 3 times per month
plus one weekend per month beginning Friday: 7:30 to 10 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am to 5 pm; and Sunday: 10:00 am to 1 pm.
- Year 5: Consists of 5 all day seminars on advanced topics
Saturdays 9:30 am to 4:30 pm; 8 Clinical Supervision sessions in a group format once per month
7 Contemporary Issues in Psychotherapy group meetings – 1 Sunday/month
Years 1 to 3 have a five day residential in May and Year 4 has a five day residential in June.
